
Ratangad is a fort in Ratanwadi, Maharashtra, India, overlooking the locale of Bhandardara, one of the oldest artificial catchment area. This fort is located in the Ahmadnagar district of Maharashtra. It is on the boundary of Ahmadnagar and Thane districts. The fort is about 400 years old. This fort is often covered with flowering plants in November. Ratangad is also called Jewel of the Sahyadris.
Ratangad has a natural rock peak with a cavity in it at the top which is called 'Nedhe' or 'Eye of the Needle'. The fort has four gates Ganesh, Hanuman, Konkan and Trimbak. Once paid, the fee will not be refunded if a participant withdraws.

Arrival at the base village, Ratanwadi.

After reaching there, spend about an hour exploring and learning about the Amruteshwar Temple.

Followed by the trek ascent.
5:00 PM
Reach the top of the fort and set up tents.
09:00 PM
Evening campfire, historical discussions, and casual chats.
10:00 PM
Lights out by 10:00 PM.
06:00 AM, Wake-up call
Wake-up call at 6:00 AM and freshen up.
8:30 AM
Followed by fort exploration.
11:00 AM
Complete fort sightseeing by 11:00 AM and begin descent.
12:30 PM
Reach the base village again.
2:00 PM
Finish lunch and depart for Thane.
7:00 PM
Estimated arrival at Thane.

Personal medication 7. 2 to 3 liters of water – mandatory (Bags will be checked; participants without sufficient water will be asked to arrange it before departure.) 8. Camera (optional – at your own responsibility) 9. All participants must report 15 minutes before departure time. Delays will not be tolerated. 10. Avoid use of plastic. The number of plastic items you carry will be recorded, and any shortage on return will incur a ₹100 fine. 11. Avoid using perfume or deodorant. 12. Carry dry snacks (only as needed).

Smoking and drinking are strictly prohibited during the trek. Anyone found violating this rule will be asked to leave immediately.
